The plot starts to thicken when Meadow meets Zephyr James, who is—although he doesn’t know it—one of the MC’s programmed assassins. Is their meeting a coincidence? Destiny? Or part of a terrifying strategy? And will Zephyr keep Meadow from discovering the haunting truth about her family?

Review:

Count to three. Relax your mind. Now survive.
I really wanted to like The Murder Complex, but in the end I think I over hyped myself for this book. The comparisons I saw everywhere didn't help either. " It's the next Hunger Games/ Divergent!" The book really DID remind me of Divergent, a little to much if you ask me. The being trained to fight, a group that thinks they are worth more then other people, the trains and finally the murder complex. In the end I just didn't enjoy myself reading it as much as I hoped I would.
The beginning of the book jumped right into everything. You do not have to wait a single second for the suspense and action to happen. The characters all have their own purpose in their own worlds, but none of them are content there. Each one of them wants something more from their lives, you could continuously feel that vibe through out the book. Especially Meadow, one of the main characters in the book. In every family there is that one person who would do anything for their family and only wants what's best for them. That person is Meadow, because of her families situation she would do anything for Peri. Her sister. I found this admirable and gratifying. Most of the time we say that we'd do anything for family, but when it comes down it it we become cowards. The need to live becomes too strong and over powers the need to protect. This stood out the most for me in the book.
The Murder Complex is the first novel Lindsay Cummings has written and published, you can find her prequel for The Murder Complex, The Fear Trial out for ebooks on May 27th, 2014 and her second series The Balance Keepers in stores September 23rd, 2014.
